Bills/Jags thoughts

  • Can anyone explain the Bills' decision to punt on 4th and 10, trailing by 8 with 5 minutes left in the game? Seriously? Anyone? Absolutely maddening.
  • So, the consensus seems to be that Losman is done. If you find yourself positive that it's time for the Bills to move on to Trent Edwards, ask yourself the following question... "Was I also positive that it was time to move on from Bledsoe to Losman?" Or this one... "Did I rejoice when Drew Bledose was acquired because it was time to get a 'real quarterback?'" Or this... "Was I glad that Jim Kelly retired because it was time to see what Todd Collins could do?" Or... "Am I so naive that I believe that the success or failure of a 53-man team can always be boiled down to the performance of one player?" Or... "Do I find all paint chips delicious or only lead-based paint chips?""
  • Every time Anthony Thomas touches the ball, I feel like a play has just been wasted. (Yes, I saw the touchdown.) Contrary to the QB position, I think I would almost always err on the side of youth. Young, fresh legs can be very effective in the NFL. We see it year in and year out. Jackson or Wright, to me, is a better idea than Thomas in almost every conceivable situation.
  • One more note on Losman... it's not OK to complain that he continued to check down to the tailback yesterday and then, in the same breath, declare that it's time to get the offense going by inserting Trent Edwards into the lineup. You can't have it both ways.
  • By the way, a win tonight over the Caps would put the Sabres one point out of a playoff spot.
