I'm everywhere!

I've just received word that the new FanZone portion of Buffalo.com has launched. Deanna Russo is one of the people responsible for the new site and she'll be on my show tonight to talk about it. The address is http://bills.buffalo.com. I'll be contributing to the site on a regular basis. In fact, my conversation with Tim Graham from last night is available there already. I also took part in the IMportant People live blog on buffalo.com on Wednesday. You'll find a replay of that somewhere on my site.

Also, I was interviewed and photographed for this week's edition of Business First, but I can only see part of the article online, and I'm too cheap to pay to read about myself and look at my ugly mug sitting in a Ford Flex. Below is the text of David Bertola's article that IS available and here's a link to the partial story. I wouldn't be mad at anyone who does have a subscription if he/she decided to cut and paste the entire article and send it to me.

Social marketing has rewards

Brad Riter has a brand-new set of wheels: a 2009 Ford Flex. The sports director at WECK 1230-AM is happy to tell you all about it, including his likes and dislikes.

He does so on a blog set up by the Ford Dealers of Western New York. At wnyford.com, Riter and other Western New Yorkers – including Erie County Executive Chris Collins and WKBW-TV General Manager Bill Ransom – drove the Flex for a day and weighed in on their experiences.

The blog is social marketing at work. In addition to TV, radio, Internet and print ads, marketers want people on the street spreading the word about a product, service or event. It’s like taking water cooler conversations, turning up the volume and involving more people.

Chuck Basil, chairman of the Western New York Ford Dealers Advertising Association, downplayed the notion that it’s risky to ask people to speak candidly about their experiences.
