This is not going to be any sort of rant about the Time Warner/LIN Broadcasting dispute. I don't have cable, so I don't care.
I'm actually writing because just now, while at work (where we DO have cable), I was looking for the NLCS game and, figuring it was on FOX, I flipped immediately to channel 6. In the split second between pushing the buttons and the channel actually changing I thought "no, you idiot. That was YEARS ago. It's just 29 now for channel 29." Nope... WUTV (Channel 29) is still on channel 6.
So, now I'm trying to remember the cable channels from back when 2 was on 3, etc.
Help me fill in the blanks and/or correct any errors. (We had International Cable in West Seneca but I think the lower, basic cable channel numbers were pretty much the same from system to system.)
2 CFTO (CTV)
3 WGRZ (NBC)
4 WNED (PBS)
5 HBO
6 WIVB (CBS)?
7 ??
8 WKBW (ABC) ??? This one seems really weird to me. Maybe 7 was always on 7?
9 WOR (NY Mets games!)
10 Cable access
11 WTBS?
12 WUTV (FOX)?
13 CBC
