Losman to start on Sunday

Big shocker, I know. The Bills (and more specifically Dick Jauron) released the following statement this afternoon.

“J.P. Losman will start at quarterback against the Miami Dolphins. He did an outstanding job finishing the Jets game and in leading us to victory over the Bengals this past Sunday.”

I'm confused as to why the second sentence is even a part of the statement. "Losman's starting." That says enough. The more that Dick Jauron talks about his QB situation, the more likely it is that people will take his words and twist them. It's to the point where it's now pretty much accepted that Jauron, at any point, said "Edwards is our starter for the rest of the year." Guess what... it never happened. He did, prior to the NYJ game, make some sort of reference (and I'm paraphrasing) to "last week we said 'for this week' and this week we're not saying that." But that's as far as it has gone.

Here's the way it's going to work and this is the way it's been all along. The starter is the starter until something changes, then maybe somebody else will be the starter. There's barely even a QB "situation" here let alone a controversy. Losman got hurt, Edwards played OK, the team was winning, Jauron didn't wanna mess with it. Then Edwards got hurt, Losman came in, played OK, the team is winning, and Jauron doesn't wanna mess with it.

That's all. I feel better now.

Also, I saw American Gangster. I might write more about it later but for now I'll just say "good, not great."
