Sabres move into 7th

-What a performance by Ryan Miller last night. If he could have been awarded the first, second, AND third stars, I think he would've gotten all three. He kept the team alive through the Leafs' furious offensive push in the late first and early second periods. Even on a team that has shown some offensive firepower at times this year, performances like that are going to be necessary on some nights down the stretch. If Miller is up for the challenge, this team will be, as has been the case for a couple of years, a scary one to face come playoff time.
-Does anyone else think that Ottawa got worse instead of better in swapping out Corvo and Eaves for Commodore and Stillman? Am I missing something?
-The Sabres may not wind up signing Brian Campbell to a contract extension prior to the February 26th trading deadline, but it won't be because of the overblown "Campbell cuts off negotiations" BS that came out a month or so ago. Even if you ignore the fact that he never directly uttered the words "I'm cutting off negotiations," common sense tells you that the best way to get the other side to come closer to your demands is to "walk away" or at least pretend to do so. It's weird how none of the reports of Darcy Regier's recent conversations with Campbell's agent were accompanied by either apologies for the previous false reports or accusations against Campbell for lying. Perhaps it's uncool to admit that a mountain was made out of a mole hill.
